IST Austria acknowledges the achievements and research work of its interns by providing them the opportunity to present their research outcomes at a symposium. Students who are required to complete a research project or internship for their bachelor’s or master’s degree have a great chance to learn exceptional skills by being part of IST Austria as interns. Interns must identify the research group they are interested in. The head of that group selects the interns, so candidates are required to contact the group leader directly..<

Eligibility Criteria of the IST Scientific Internships:
- Bachelor’s or master’s students or those who have obtained bachelor’s or master’s degrees in the natural or computer sciences, mathematics, or any related discipline.
- The candidate must be proficient in English.
- The applicant must have a great interest in the research topic he/she is applying to.
- Not all research groups can accept interns. Before applying, make sure to read the group’s webpage and check if your interests match their research.
How to apply for the IST Scientific Internships?
- First, the candidates have to choose the research topic or group related to their field of study.
- The candidate must contact the research group leader directly either the professor or assistant professor.
- The candidate can contact the research leader by sending a direct E-mail.
- Only complete applications will be considered. Incomplete or unrelated applications will not be reviewed.

- If the research group leader finds you a potential candidate, his/her assistant will keep in touch for further application steps.
